Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting
Pursuant
to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held
on December 14, 2021. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Geoff Zibell,
Lisa Pool, and Luke Kratzer
Absent:
Jessi Kappes, John Kappes
Also
Present: Jess Nelson, Tracy Esslinger from Moore Engineering
Presentation: None
Minutes:
a.
Luke Kratzer moved to accept the November 2021 minutes. It was seconded by Geoff and
carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a.
Lisa Pool moved
to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in
favor.
Utilities:
Certified
letters were sent 12/6/2021
Correspondence: Was shared with the council
Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Watermain
break near the campground. The fix went well, but more expensive than expected.
b. Hydrant
by the school was just stuck. Hydrant on Dewey/1st had to be fixed
and some parts replaced. We need to include slowly inspecting/repairing hydrant
fees in our annual budgets.
c. Sewer
system has been having issues. Light was on Sat, Mon, and Tues. John reset.
d. John
is looking into a sewer jetter to clean out the sewer lines between Chad &
Debbie’s places or other solutions for the tree roots.
e. John
has contacted Thein Well for an update on the new well being installed and is
waiting for a response.
Parks:
a.
Dog park-tabled until future meeting.
Streets:
a.
Snow removal-Chad
is working on getting a contract with Jeff Lavine. Jeff has been in town once
this year.
b.
John is trying to
find a used plow for the city pickup. The plow would be better than the tractor
and would take much less time. No extra insurance would be needed. Approved
spending up to $5,000 for a plow, but try to find a cheap, good quality used
one.
c.
Intentions are if
we have a city plow John will handle the small snow removal and Jeff will need
to come in if we have a significant amount.
d.
Andy Braaten does
Christine and could possibly be a backup as he has several FM accounts.
Mayor/City Clerk:
a.
Utility Rate Increase was discussed. Based
on the past 4 years of actuals income & expense a 30% increase was
discussed to cover paying for the new well and future repairs to the water
system including hydrant issues. Luke
Kratzer moved to accept this increase. It was seconded by Geoff and
carried, all in favor.
b.
Budgets were reviewed. Only update needed
is to the water income. Geoff Zibell moved to accept the budgets. It was
seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.
c.
Lisa presented her resignation effective
12/15/2021. Geoff Zibell moved to accept her resignation. It was
seconded by Luke and carried, all in favor.
d.
We
will have two council openings.
e.
Jess
Nelson will join the council, Jessi will prepare resolution to have her
appointed in January.
f.
Council
will need to discuss and set a revised date for the January meeting.
g.
Deputy
Mayor position will need to be discussed.
Planning Commission: No Report.
Office of Tourism: No Report.
Municipal Business Development: No Report.

Motion to
Adjourn: on December 14, 2021 by Lisa Pool. It
was seconded by Luke and carried, all in favor.
Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will
be decided.
