Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on June 13, 2017 in Council Chambers in the City of Wolverton, MN. The meeting was called to order by Nancy Olthoff at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Lisa Pool, Chad Erickson, Eric Anderson and Geoff Zibell.

Absent: None
Also Present: Randy Schmidt

Presentation:

Minutes: Geoff Zibell moved to accept the May 9, 2017 meeting minutes. It was seconded by Eric and carried, all in favor.

Bills & Claims: The checks and bills were reviewed Eric Anderson moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Chad and carried, all in favor.

Overdue Utilities:
#1- Is located in what used to be a trailer court, therefore, there is multiple shut-offs. We will have to locate them all and shut them all off. Also he feels the water quality is unsatisfactory. A letter will also be sent to the property owner about the balance due.

Correspondence:
We received a complaint form with the following issues noted:
1. Wondering about laws/rules on 4-wheelers/scooters in town. The city does not have an ordinance pertaining to this. We follow the states rules and are policed by the Wilkin County Sheriff’s department.
2. Dying ash trees in town. We are obtaining quotes to get trees trimmed throughout town.
3. Spring clean-up day. We had a clean-up day back in May. No additional days have been planned.
4. Is our current ordinance for a maximum grass level of 8” to high? This is the height in our current ordinance.
5. Wrecked vehicle on bare lot. This vehicle was just moved on to the lot after a very recent car accident. We will follow up on it in the future.
A letter will be sent to the complainant.

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
Has been busy mowing. The new mower works great.
John will be fixing the fence at the ball diamond.
He has started repairs on the park shelter.
He will be working to find water shut-offs.
The curb stop had to be replaced for the Thomson lot.
Has had continued issues with the mercury switch for the water.

Fire Department:
1. Randy stated that he has sent in a grant to DNR for radios.
2. Who is to get the bill for the Daugherty fire? No criminal charges were pressed because owner did not choose to do so. A bill will be sent to responsible party.
3. Two individuals responded to the fire that are not on the fire department roster. Letters will be sent to these individuals as this is not allowed due to insurance liability issues.
4. Also a reminder to all citizens if there is a fire please call 911 right away, do not try to put the fire out yourself.
5. Fire department received a donation from CW Valley to be used towards grain extraction equipment.
6. Randy has not received an answer on our fire board questions yet. The Fire Marshalls were all in training last month so he anticipates answers from them soon.

Fire Board: None

Rescue: Currently 4 members and we know of 2 other interested individuals.

Parks:
The campground has not had a ton of activity. Do we want to look at promoting this more in the future?
Kickball was a huge success. Next event is planned for this Thursday the 15th.
Lisa will be looking for park equipment grants for 2018.

Streets:
Some trees are blocking street signs.

Mayor/City Clerk:
Nancy stated that we need to be mindful and be looking at our utility rates. We will review our numbers in July.
