Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on November 12, 2019 in Council Chambers in the City of Wolverton, MN. The meeting was called to order by Nancy Olthoff at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Geoff Zibell, Duane Nelson, Chad Erickson and Lisa Pool.

Absent: None

Also Present: Carter Erickson & Raven Michael from Breckenridge Civics and Literature class

Presentation: None

Minutes: Chad Erickson moved to accept the October 9, 2019 meeting minutes. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.

Bills & Claims: The checks and bills were reviewed Geoff Zibell moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.

Overdue Utilities:

Tow Shutoff letters were sent-due date November 15th.

Correspondence: Reviewed a compliant form. A letter will be sent out to all residents about cats roaming through town. Many are strays.

Engineer/Water/Sewer:

  1. Hydrants have been flushed-3 will need repairs.
  2. Campground has been winterized. 1 camper still there just using sewer and power.
  3. John will try to mow the coolie with it being frozen.
  4. Pop machine has been increased to $2
  5. Reviewed the ND Sewage Pump and Electric Pump estimates for the sewer pump. John will contact Electric Pump and try to negotiate.

 

Fire Department: Sabin has a meeting next Monday and should be approving the contracts.

 

Parks:

  1. Lisa is working on Christmas Day plans. It will be held December 14th 2-5pm.

Streets:

  1. Ground is to frozen to blade the roads
  2. Snow monsters will do snow removal

Mayor/City Clerk:

  1. 2020 Budgets are in process. Discussed the sewer fund not having enough income to cover the expenses in the past. We also need to make a major repair/replacement of the lift station pump. Discussed raising the sewer fee 15%. We have not had a rate increase since 2009.

Planning Commission: No Report.

Office of Tourism: No Report.

Municipal Business Development: No Report.

Motion to Adjourn: on November 12, 2019 by Chad Erickson. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor. Mayor Nancy Olthoff declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 6:15 pm.
