Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting
Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on July 13, 2021. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Geoff Zibell, Lisa Pool and Luke Kratzer.
Absent: NONE
Also Present: Tracy Eslinger-Moore Engineering
Presentation: Tracey went through the spreadsheet he put together for financing options for the temporary and permanent wells. Discussed the MRWA loans, DWSRF, and Rural Development programs. We need the final bill and quote from Thein before making any decisions.
Minutes:
a. Geoff Zibell moved to close the June 2021 meeting. It was seconded by Chad and carried, all in favor.
b. Lisa Pool moved to accept the June 2021 minutes. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Lisa Pool moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.
Utilities:
1 Shutoff letter was sent and has been paid.
Correspondence: Was shared with the council.
Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and sewer operations are good.
b. Water tower will be cleaned on July 20th. Hydrants will be flushed around this time as well.
c. Discussed having the ball diamond bathrooms open all day. It was decided to leave them locked unless there is an event to avoid vandalism.
d. Willow tree across from the elevator will be cut down.
e. Campground has been cleaned up, but dirt will need to be hauled in to level it out correctly. John will get quotes.
Parks:
a. A fox has been spotted in town several times. Lisa will check with the DNR to see what can be done about it.
b. Lisa presented ideas on basketball hoops: Geoff Zibell moved to approve the purchase of a new hoop up to $600. It was seconded by Luke and carried, all in favor.
c. Picnic tables have been restained.
Streets: Turners will be in to grade the roads.
Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Mayor Position-Nancy has resigned. Lisa Pool moved to approve the resolution accepting the resignation and declaring a vacancy. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor. We will research options for filling the vacancy. In the interim Chad will act as the interim mayor.
b. Waiting for a response from the attorney on the ordinance updates.
c. The job description Lisa put together was reviewed. John will review and provide his input.
d. Jessi will contact the account and ask him to put together 1-3-5-year projections if income and expenses stayed consistent going forward. This will help when reviewing financing options for the well project.
e. A Municipal Approval of Classification was sent to us from Wilkin County. This document lists lots within the city that have been forfeited to the State of MN. Discussed that these lots can be either put up for public auction or we may request that they be conveyed to the city, however, if conveyed to the city a specific plan must be developed for each lot. Lisa Pool moved to accept that the lots be put up for public auction. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.

Office of Tourism: No Report.
Municipal Business Development: No Report.
