Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on December 9, 2025. The meeting was called to order by Jessica Nelson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present were Josh Jensen, Frank Israelson, and Shawn O’Dell.

Presentation: None

Minutes:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept November 2025 minutes. It was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Shawn O’Dell moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Josh and carried, all in favor.
Utilities: One past due last check was NSF. New certified letter was sent today.

Correspondence: Reviewed – Josh and Jessica will be attending the meeting at the county.

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and Sewer have been good.

Parks:
a. Discussed increasing campground prices based on area campground prices to $500/month.
b. Discussed allowing boondocking campers near the ball diamond area for $250/month.

Streets:
a. Streetlights-Received a quote from Scott’s Electric. Price seems realistic; however, they have a 3–5-week lead time to order the new ballasts depending on if we do regular lights or LED’s. LED comes with a 5-year warranty. Josh Jensen moved to accept the quote and proceed with LED lights. It was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor.

Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Diversion-Jessica talked with Randy from Houston Engineering. Mark Nelson and Randy met and discussed the West side of Wolverton. Randy sent Jessica an email with a document of paperwork to be reviewed. He indicated that they are still working on easements and discussions with the railroad. They will be coming to an upcoming meeting to give the council an update.
b. Violation letters were sent.
c. No parking on city streets during the winter. Ordinance was sent to the Wilkin Count Sheriff.
d. Discussed changing the voicemail message to include the city email address.
e. Council Position- Need to find someone to appoint to fill the position.
f. 2026 budgets were reviewed.
g. Resolution to declare a vacancy for a city council position. Josh Jensen moved to approve the resolution, it was seconded by Frank and approved.

Municipal Business Development: None

Motion to Adjourn: Shawn O’Dell moved to adjourn December 9, 2025, it was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor. Frank Israelson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on January 13, 2025.
