Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on April 11, 2017 in Council Chambers in the City of Wolverton, MN. The meeting was called to order by Nancy Olthoff at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Lisa Pool, Chad Erickson, Eric Anderson and Geoff Zibell.

Presentation:

Minutes: Lisa Pool moved to accept the March 14, 2017 meeting minutes. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.

Bills & Claims: The checks and bills were reviewed Chad Erickson moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.

Overdue Utilities: #1- John spoke to and has received a payment of $340 the remaining balance will be paid by May 1st or he will be turning the water off.
#2 has been turned this water off- John will try to verify that the water is actually off

Correspondence: None

Engineer/Water/Sewer: John reported that Don Nelson has contacted him and would like shut-off’s installed for his house as well as the other 2 that are connected to the line running to his home. This should have been done when the line was initially installed. John will get some bids for this.

Don also would like everyone reminded that the area down by the sewer lift station is not a dump.

Minn-Kota called asking if we would be willing to store a radio for Vance Gylland in our shop. The radio has been stroed in the Polar building while the antenna is on our water tower. Polar is no longer willing to house this radio which is approximately the size of a dorm fridge. We are not interested in housing the radio either.

The water hydrant in the campground was broke. John was able to get it fixed.

Polar rerouted the line that was on Betz’s property, therefore, we will no longer need to dig the line in.

New locks have been installed on both the front door and fire hall door. Code should only be given to those that need it.

MN DOT was in town the other day. When John spoke to them they stated that the City is required to keep the storm drains clean.

The park shelter needs work. John has estimated around $900 for shingles, wood and other materials. He will also assess the condition of the tennis wall. Lisa will look into the possibility for grant funds for fixing up parks. John will purchase and begin fixing up the shelter.

A couple of houses in town have had to fix their sewer lines because of tree roots.

Fire Department: Eric stated that the brush truck is up and going. They recently had training on Stormwatching.

Fire Board: A meeting was schedule with a Randy to discuss the fire board and go over what all needs to be finished up for this Thursday it has now been rescheduled for Thursday the 20th. All council members will attend and this will become a special meeting.

Rescue: All training has been completed online.

Parks: Kickball will start the 1st Thursday in June. Funds in the Town and Country fund could be sued to purchase bases or other items needed for the field. Flyers will be made.

Streets: None

Mayor/City Clerk:
Karen Thompson is moving a house into town on a bare lot. There is no water o sewer on the property at this time. They will be responsible for hooking that up.

Clerk Kappes presented the Fund Balance Policy. Eide Bailey did review and approve of this draft. Eric Anderson moved to approve this policy. It was seconded by Chad, all in favor, motion carried.

Clerk Kappes also presented Resolution #772 approving the adoption of the MN Records Retention policy. Chad Erickson moved to approve this resolution. It was seconded by Geoff, all in favor, motion carried.

This city will no be coordinating a city wide rummage sale but residents are welcome to get together and coordinate one.

City clean up day will be May 2nd.
