Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting
Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on April 9, 2024. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present Josh Jensen, Jess Nelson and Luke Kratzer.
Absent:
Also Present: Shawn O’Dell, Brian Hoefs
Presentation: Brian Hoefs would like to discuss adding a garage to the back of the house. Stated he needs to submit a building a permit which shows the proper setbacks. Also discussed him checking with MNDOT on rules for garage door openings on Hwy 75.
Minutes:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept the March 2024 minutes. It was seconded by Jess and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Luke Kratzer moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Josh and carried, all in favor.
Utilities: One is paid the other is subject to shutoff now.
Correspondence: Reviewed gravel quote from Turners. Josh Jensen moved to accept the gravel quote. It was seconded by Jess and carried, all in favor.
Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and sewer have been good.
b. Nordick Electric was here on 4/2/2024 to put in a new 30 amp outlet at the campground. Should we look at getting quotes to update the electrical at the campground for 50 amp service and maybe more camping spots?
c. City pickup running but still needs the bugs worked out as it still periodically dies while driving it.
d. Got a new starter for the Mack Tanker Truck. Alex coming 4/9/24 to help install.
e. Quote to fix the mower is $150-$300 from Farm City Supply. He thinks it’s the lower main seal.
f. Men’s bathroom remodel is done for the most part besides needing new mounting brackets for the mirror and a wider threshold.
g. John will be attending water/sewer classes on April 10th & 11th.
Parks:
a. New lamps installed at park, but haven’t been turned on.
b. Dog park-Jess is working on a full proposal.
c. Discussed adding aggregate to the ball diamond.
d. City mower will be repaired.
Streets:
a. Nothing from Xcel yet on getting the city street lights, but they are all marked.
b. Lots of potholes need to be fixed.
Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Discussed city checking accounts and budgets.
b. Luke Kratzer moved to send Christine Fire a donation of $2,000. It was seconded by Josh and carried, all in favor.
c. Josh Jensen moved to add Shawn O’Dell to the city council it was seconded by Jess, and carried all in favor.
d. Buffalo Red River Watershed has set a meeting for landowners on May 7th in Kent.
Municipal Business Development: None
Motion to Adjourn: Luke Krazter moved to adjourn the April 9, 2024, it was seconded by Josh and carried, all in favor. Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on May 14, 2024.
