The City of Wolverton is hiring a Public Works Maintenance employee to perform skilled work in streets, parks, urban forestry, storm water, and city property facilities. This position helps to efficiently maintain public property throughout the City. This position is a seasonal part time opportunity to include the spring, summer and fall seasons with approximately 25 hours per week.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Maintain city greenspaces
Operate light and heavy equipment (i.e. Lawn mower, tractor, and attachments)
Apply vector control chemicals
Repair and maintain streets, curb and gutter, sidewalks, storm sewers, city buildings and property
Assist with tree trimming operations, which may involve use of chainsaw and other equipment
Prepare equipment for upcoming seasons
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Experience performing maintenance work.
Preferred candidates will have experience in mechanical systems.
Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license.
Ability to organize and prioritize duties in an efficient manner
Ability to work independently and identify projects needed to be done
Special Requirements:
May be required to work during emergency conditions and adverse weather conditions.
Frequently positions self to maneuver objects weighing up to 25 lbs. and occasionally weighing up to 75 lbs.
Occasionally position self to use up to 70 lbs. of force and up to 200 lbs. of torque occasionally, to operate valve, hydrants, etc.
