Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on December 11, 2017 in Council Chambers in the City of Wolverton, MN. The meeting was called to order by Nancy Olthoff at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Lisa Pool, Chad Erickson, Eric Anderson and Geoff Zibell.
Absent: John Kappes
Also Present: Randy Schmidt, Norm-Sabin Fire, Tate Mills- MN State Fire Division, Bob Dablow- Mayor of Sabin and Fire District commissioner
Presentation:
Discussion was had about the Wolverton Fire Dept. We currently have 4 active members. In order to receive state aid we have to have at least 10 members and certain equipment which is certified by the FA-1 form. State aid funds go to the Relief association or if no association they can be used for other specific purposes.
Right now we are going to get a service agreement done between Sabin-Elmwood Fire and the City of Wolverton. For 2018 the city will send out service agreements for each township and City of Comstock. In the future we will then revisit our options with Sabin and a Relief Association. Bob Dablow will develop and send us a service agreement to get it started.
Minutes: Lisa Pool moved to accept the November 14, 2017 meeting minutes. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims: The checks and bills were reviewed Chad Erickson moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.
Overdue Utilities:
#1 has to be paid in full by the end of the year or will be shut off again.

Correspondence:
Correspondence was shared with the council.
Engineer/Water/Sewer:
John has been working on cleaning up all of the water/sewer files in the office. Is renovating the picnic tables. Water and sewer has been good.
John will start gathering bids and estimated time frames for getting the water service panel updated.
Fire Department:
We may be getting a different fire truck as Sabin is getting a new one.
Fire Board: Discussed during presentation.
Rescue: Nancy has resigned which leaves 3 members. She will be meeting with them to discuss the future.
Parks:
Santa days is set for Saturday the 16th from 3-5 p.m. There will be a craft, hot chocolate, coffee, Santa and Mrs. Claus, tour of lights and a photo booth.
Skating rink was started, however, we need a new liner. Chad will follow-up on this.
Streets:
Eric called and left a message with Scott’s Electric but has not heard back.
Mayor/City Clerk:
Geoff presented some forms that need to be filled out for the auto pay option. He will work with Jessi to get completed.
Geoff suggested we install Carbonite backup software on the computer. Jessi will do this.
Planning Commission:
Per the November meeting the bank building and the lot next to it (The North Half (N1/2) of Lot One (1) Block B, Wares Addition to the City of Wolverton and the South Half (S1/2) of Lot Numbered One (1) in Block Lettered B of Wares Addition to the Village of Wolverton, Wilkin County, Minnesota were offered for sale to Wayne McQueen and/or Sandy Cook. The accepted the offer and will begin the process of purchasing it. Ross has picked up the deed and will be getting his signatures notarized and the document recorded. Nancy will have a purchase agreement written up with the buyer.
