Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on July 8, 2025. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present were Josh Jensen, Frank Israelson, Shawn O’Dell and Jessica Nelson.

Absent: Jessi Kappes

Also Present: None

Presentation: None

Minutes:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept June 2025 minutes. It was seconded by Jessica and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor.
Utilities:
a. Past Due letters will be sent.

Correspondence: None

Engineer/Water/Sewer: No Report

Parks:
a. Water has been turned on at concession stand.
b. Backboard to be replaced soon.

Streets:
a. Discussion had about stop signs along 1st street. Quote to be sent out by sign company in Fergus Falls.
b. Sink hole seems to be holding.

Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Discussion on city mowing of properties: change of price when city mows because of ordinance violations. Motion made by Shawn O’Dell to raise the price of mowing to $100.00 for violators of city ordinance regarding lawn length. Seconded by Frank Israelson, all in favor, motion carried.
b. Complaint reviewed: Can any repercussion happen if extra lots are being mowed? We didn’t think so. No action taken on this item.
c. Mowing around lift station: Robert was told that lift station was lower on the priority list of mowing to stay within his allotted hours. This will be brought up to Robert again to remind.
d. Regarding, spraying; seems there is a vehicle in the “alley” blocking him from spraying between 2nd street houses and the field. Please send a letter to Smeby family to have this moved so we can spray for mosquitoes.
e. Tree pile by lift station. How to take care of this mess? Come fall after harvest can we push the pile into the field and burn it?
f. Diversion:Earliest to get project out to bid end of year….construction possibly starting 2026? Update from Randy as of this a.m. as per Chad
g. Maintenance job description: T&G company correspondence with Jessi. Jessi will then contact council.

Municipal Business Development: None

Motion to Adjourn: Josh Jensen moved to adjourn July 8, 2025, it was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor. Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on August 12, 2025.
