Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on July 9, 2019 in Council Chambers in the City of Wolverton, MN. The meeting was called to order by Nancy Olthoff at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Geoff Zibell, Chad Erickson, Duane Nelson and Lisa Pool.

Absent: None
Also Present: Brett from Eagle Valley Church

Brett stated that the Picnic in the Park event went very well. He would like to set-up a work day for people from the church and community to help with projects the city needs done. Day was set-up for July 27th to begin at 9:00 a.m.

Minutes: Two changes to the June minutes will be made. The July meeting is on Tuesday July 9th and a City-wide rummage sale is a possibility. The City of Christine will be in contact if they wish to pursue it. Chad Erickson moved to accept the June 10, 2019 meeting minutes. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.

Bills & Claims: The checks and bills were reviewed Geoff Zibell moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.

Overdue Utilities:
Shutoff letters were sent.

Correspondence: Correspondence was reviewed.

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
1. Box blade arrived on 07/03/2019.
2. Daugherty’s would like to take down some split trees. Chad will take a look at them.
3. Road construction on highway 75 is set to start on 07/15/2019.
4. John will cut branches around stop signs.

Fire Department: Fire training and truck rental invoice was reviewed. Jessi contacted Randy and Sabin fire was supposed to meet on the 8th and discuss our service fee. Randy was to contact us after their meeting.

Parks: Discussion was had on vandalism at the park. Chad Erickson moved to purchase two security cameras it was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.
City game night is set for Wednesday July 10th. Church is providing ice cream treats.

Streets: John stated that Turners were in and graded the roads and indicated to John that they would recommend 10 loads of gravel to be hauled in. John will go around town and grade some areas then see how much we need. John will order at least 2 loads to repairs the alleys.

Duane stated that he contacted Wilkin County and they have no culverts available for sale. Nancy will contact MDI.

Mayor/City Clerk: Nancy stated that she received a message stating that the Antique store is working on cleaning up the sidewalk and repairing the ground/alley damage from their sewer project. City will repair the alley and bill them if necessary.

Discussion was had regarding bare lots in the flood zone. Geoff contacted Breanna Koval from Wilkin County. The city adopted the National Flood ordinance which states that provided a property owner follows the guidelines set forth in that ordinance they could potentially build on the property, therefore, the $25 fee stays in effect.

Planning Commission: No Report.

Old Business: Duane attended the watershed meeting. Watershed denied the permit for the Flood Diversion Authority. Next meeting for our contested case is on 08/30/2019.0

Motion to Adjourn: on July 10, 2019 by Lisa Pool. It was seconded by Chad and carried, all in favor. Mayor Nancy Olthoff declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 6:15 pm.
