Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting
Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on June 11, 2024. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:02 P.M. Council members present Josh Jensen, Luke Kratzer and Jess Nelson
Absent: Jessi Kappes
Also Present: Rick Reep
Presentation:
Rick Reep stated he was unhappy with the zoning ordinance and what he is allowed to do with his lots on main street. He stated he will not be paying the utility bill. He will be sent a letter about the grass ordinance if grass is not maintained.
Minutes:
a. Jess Nelson moved to accept the May minutes. It was seconded by Josh and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Luke and carried, all in favor.
Utilities: Letters were sent.
Correspondence: Discussed MN Lead grant.
Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and sewer good
b. City pickup-Alex was going to research more on the fuel system
c. Fogging Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday nights
d. Lots of mowing throughout town
e. Box blading alleys with the rain
f. Need gravel throughout town
g. Do we want the road grader back in town?
h. Does the council want the willow tree and broken branches cut down the state land across from the elevator? Yes the council would like John to take down the willow tree if he’s able.
i. John Cut out all the small trees in the ditch along the ball diamond
j. Working on weed control around town
k. Ball diamond water is back on
Parks:
a. Jess Nelson is in lead on the first community even on June 13th.
Streets: Luke will ask Turners to spread gravel throughout town.
Mayor/City Clerk:
a. City attorney-diversion-Cash will not represent the city.
b. Insurance will be here to appraise city buildings on June 17th, John will take care of this.
c. Funds from UBS account to be reinvested-No decision on what to do at this time.
d. Maintenance/water & sewer position- John has submitted his resignation from the full-time maintenance position. He is willing to stay on as a part time employee to do the water and sewer and manage rental of the campground per his proposal. City will post the maintenance position. Jess Nelson moved to accept his resignation. It was seconded by Josh and carried, all in favor. Josh Jensen moved to approve John staying on as a part-time employee. It was seconded by Shawn and carried, all in favor.
e. Council would like a letter sent to all resident about dogs/vehicles and yard upkeep.
Municipal Business Development: None
Motion to Adjourn: Jess Nelson moved to adjourn the June 11, 2024, it was seconded by Luke and carried, all in favor. Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on July 9, 2024.
