Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on June 7, 2021. The meeting was called to order by Nancy Olthoff at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Geoff Zibell, Chad Erickson and Lisa Pool.

Minutes:
a. Geoff Zibell moved to accept the May 2021 minutes. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Geoff Zibell moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.
Utilities:
Shutoff letters were sent, and all paid in full.

Correspondence: None

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and sewer operations are good.
b. Willow tree across from the elevator is in bad shape and needs to come down. John can take it down. Chas will check on grants to plant new trees in town.
c. Individual that previously wanted debris no longer wants it. John will check with Blillie’s to haul away debris. Turners does not want to take it.
d. Working on getting all picnic tables restained.
e. Hasn’t fogged yet but is ready to start at any time.
Parks:
a. Lisa presented ideas on basketball hoops: In ground is most expensive, but maybe we’d have less damage done to it. Portable would be cheaper. Lisa will look at mid-range price options for a portable hoop.
b. John will check the storage area at the shelter for tennis poles.
Streets: As soon as wet enough Chad will have Turners come in and do streets. John will do the alleys.

Mayor/City Clerk:
a. 2nd reading of the Wolverton Telephone ordinance done.
b. Reviewed changes recommended by attorney on the two updated ordinances we have been working on. Jessi will follow-up with attorney on if #57 can end the same as #59. Also, if there is anything special, we need to do for a fee schedule and how to limit unrealistic fees imposed in the future.
c. John descriptions were discussed. Lisa will put together something for John’s position.

Planning Commission: No Report.
