Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on March 5, 2020 in Council Chambers in the City of Wolverton, MN. The meeting was called to order by Nancy Olthoff at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Geoff Zibell, Duane Nelson, Chad Erickson and Lisa Pool.

Absent: None
Also Present: Josh Nack-Wilkin County Deputy

Presentation: Josh presented the bill for policy services. Cost went down due to 8 fewer calls and a change in the number of deputies. He also stated that their drug dog has been doing amazing work throughout the county.

Minutes: Lisa Pool moved to accept the February 11, 2020 meeting minutes. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.

Bills & Claims: The checks and bills were reviewed Lisa Pool moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Chad and carried, all in favor.

Overdue Utilities:
Shutoff letters were sent on March 2nd.

Correspondence: None

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
1. Had Quality pump check the old sewer pump that had been picked up from Electric Pump. They repairs needed are not nearly as bad as thought. Reviewed their bid to get the pump back to working order.
2. Waiting on the new sewer pump to arrive.

Parks: None

Streets: Use the box blade to move some of the slush off the streets and allow for quicker drying.

Mayor/City Clerk:
1. Discussed the MN Livable Code. At this time it does not fit our city. We will review current ordinances as needed and if necessary update those.
2. Discussed clean-up day. Jessi contacted T & G Sanitation and May 12th will work. The council will offer a $10 coupon per household to go towards purchasing tags for those items that cannot be put out for clean-up day without an extra fee.
3. Discussed needing to write a testimony on the impact of the diversion on Wolverton. Nancy will get more information on what we need to do exactly.

Planning Commission: No Report.

Office of Tourism: No Report.

Municipal Business Development: No Report.

Motion to Adjourn: on March 5, 2020 by Geoff Zibell. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor. Mayor Nancy Olthoff declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be Thursday, April 14, 2020 at 6:15 pm.
