Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on May 13, 2025. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present were Josh Jensen, Jessica Nelson and Frank Israelson.

Absent: Shawn O’Dell

Also Present: None

Presentation: None 

Minutes:

  1. Jessica Nelson moved to accept April 2025 minutes. It was seconded by Josh and carried, all in favor.

Bills & Claims:

  1. Josh Jensen moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Jessica and carried, all in favor. Discussion on budgets and utility fees.

Utilities:

  1. Past Due letters were sent.
  2. Discussion was had on payment methods. Cash payments can no longer be dropped off in the payment box. If you cannot pay via money order or check you will need to make an appointment with the clerk to make your payment.

Correspondence: Reviewed dog complaints-letters will be sent to residents.

Engineer/Water/Sewer:

  1. The water system has been good.
  2. The sewer lift station was fixed.
  3. TG expressed concern about the amount of garbage for clean up day. They will want to discuss a limit per house next year.

Parks:

  1. Discussed putting a few flower planters on main street. Jessica will put together and has a plan for care. The approximate initial cost will be $650. Josh Jensen moved to approve this purchase. It was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor.

Streets:

  1. Josh Jensen is going to take pictures of every light pole that is out to be sent off from Xcel.
  2. Chad’s patch of the sink hole has held and maintained thus far.
  3. Speed limit signs-No Report
  4. The road grader was here and did a first cut on the roads. We will now need Turners to come in and put gravel down then he will come back in and spread it.

 

Mayor/City Clerk:

  1. Maintenance Position: Chad interviewed Robert Betz and hired him. Discussion was had on the hiring process. 25-30 hours a week at $20 an hour.
  2. Alex Hamre works 4 days a week. He would be willing to help in the fall when Robert goes back to teaching.
  3. Diversion-They have provided us with no updates.

Municipal Business Development: None 

Motion to Adjourn: Josh Jensen moved to adjourn May 13, 2025, it was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor. Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on June 17, 2025.
