Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on October 14, 2025. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present were Frank Israelson, Shawn O’Dell and Jessica Nelson.

Absent: Josh Jensen

Also Present: None

Presentation: None

Minutes:
a. Jessica Nelson moved to accept September 2025 minutes. It was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Jessica Nelson moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Shawn and carried, all in favor.
Utilities: None

Correspondence: Reviewed

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and Sewer have been good. Hawkins will be coming next week to calibrate the chemical pumps.
b. Hydrants will be flushed in October-Notices will be put up.
c. End of the month water will be shut off on the campground and ball diamond. The baseball building will need to be winterized.
d. Since temps are down, we will no longer spray for mosquitoes.

Parks:
a. Pots on main street-Jessica will decorate them to match the seasons.
b. Lots of work done at the park including the fences.
c. Discussed looking to cameras for the park area.

Streets:
a. Grader called and asked if we wanted one more time passing this season. They will come in and do that once again before freezing.
b. Streetlights-Still in the works. Josh not available to give us an update. We do know a couple have been fixed.
c. Stop signs still in the works. We have some inventory on signs that need to be gone through.
d. Snow Removal-Reviewed contract from Wilkin Wood products. Shawn O’Dell moved to accept the bid. It was seconded by Jessica and carried, all in favor.

Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Discussed the new business being started outside of Wolverton on the Christine road for a dog boarding and training facility. Letters were sent to all property owners within a ½ mile of the proposed site and all municipalities within 2 miles of the location. Jessica Nelson attended the meeting and it appeared as feedback was not well received.
b. Diversion: No Report
c. Discussed property violation letter mailed to resident on Hwy 75.
d. Will be sending out a reminder letter to all residents about snow season coming to remind them to pull the garbage cans back for snow removal and no parking ordinance.
e. Discussed property on 2nd street owned by Charles Sapp about an RV being placed there and used for full-time living. Send a violation letter to property owner along with ordinances.
f. Kyle Johnson will be sent a letter about junk, blight, boats, shed etc.
g. Renata Smeby will be sent a letter about vehicles.
h. Repeat offenders should get a letter every Spring.
i. Discussed utility increases. We discussed an amount last year and decided to split the increase between two years. To be discussed further.
j. Budget info to be reviewed over the next couple of years.
k. Discussed when part-time employment will end for the season. Part-time employment will end October 31st. Will revisit next Spring for when employment will start.
l. Alex from Aber will be over when he’s got a change to look at the Kubota. He will contact Jessica when he is available.

Municipal Business Development: None

Motion to Adjourn: Frank Israelson moved to adjourn October 14, 2025, it was seconded by Jessica and carried, all in favor. Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on November 11, 2025.
