Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting
Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on September 10, 2024. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present Luke Kratzer, Jess Nelson, Shawn O’Dell and Josh Jensen.
Absent: None
Also Present: Bobby Jo Cody (Red Silo)
Presentation:
Bobby Jo came to discuss 1st Annual Pickled Fest hosted by the Red Silo. Lots of responses and a good chunk of vendors with 2 food options available. Luke is bringing in a trailer for them to use and Chad will haul the city picnic tables up.
Minutes:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept the August 13, 2024 minutes. It was seconded by Jess and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Luke and carried, all in favor.
Utilities: Letters were sent.
Correspondence: Complaint form was received in regard to the dog ordinance. Complaint states that the resident has more then the maximum of 2 adult dogs with excessive barking and aggressive behavior. Ordinance letter will be sent out.
Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and sewer good
Parks:
a. Jess discussed putting up the ice rink this year, perhaps on Main street next to the fire hall. She will look into this further.
Streets:
a. Jess called Xcel Energy about the street lights they now claim there is no work order. They would like us to submit an online ticket for each light pole that is out.
b. Gravel has been delivered. Still trying to find a road grader.
Mayor/City Clerk:
a. One interview was completed, lots of discussion was had. Discussed the position further. This will be a part-time/seasonal position for 25 hours a week at $17 per hour. A second interview will be held with the applicant in the coming weeks. Luke Kratzer moved to approve the hours and pay for this position, it was seconded by Josh and carried, all in favor.
b. Attorney for the diversion- O’Keeffe, Lyson, Foss Attorneys would like to have a 15-20 minute phone call to discuss their services. Jess will handle this.
c. Snow removal was discussed. Last years contractor will continue again at the same rates and will also take care of the alleys and sidewalks. No shovel work will be completed. Another resident is interested in bidding the snow removal as well. Josh Jensen moved to approve the same contractor from last year, it was seconded by Jess and carried, all in favor.
d. Reviewed the map of a 1 acre parcel that the city owns, west of the lift station, down by the river that the diversion would like to purchase. Nothing will be done with this until we have the attorney in place.
e. Discussed the city levy. We will increase by 8% as of now, but can reduce it after budgets for 2025 have been finalized.

Motion to Adjourn: Jess Nelson moved to adjourn the September 10, 2024, it was seconded by Josh and carried, all in favor. Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on October 8, 2024.
