Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting
Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on September 22, 2021. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Geoff Zibell, Luke Kratzer and Lisa Pool.
Absent: None
Also Present: Zach & Cali Schreiner, Jess Nelson, Leroy Betz
Presentation:
Zach & Cali Schreiner here to discuss snow removal for this winter. Chad explained we are working on options to get a contractor set for the year.
Minutes:
a. Geoff Zibell moved to accept the August 2021 minutes. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Geoff Zibell moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.
Utilities:
1 Shutoff letter was sent
Correspondence:
Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and sewer numbers are good.
b. City hall sign is done
c. Mowing, weeding, and spraying around town.
d. Will be hauling dirt to the campground.
e. Camera has been put up at the park.
f. Menards donated a gallon of paint for each color at the ball diamond and John’s purchased a couple of additional gallons. He has been scraping paint and replacing some rotten boards and painting.
g. Planning to shingle the city shop next week.
h. Willow tree will be cut down this fall-Jessi will contact Wilkin County about this/
i. John has requested a couple of additional quotes for the well, but contractors are either too busy or are not willing to provide a quote due to fluctuating material costs. Jessi will work on applying for financing to pay the current bill with Thein with MRWA.
j. This fall, tree trimming will need to be done on all alleys and streets.
k. MRWA will be here this week to help work on hydrants.
Parks:
a. Lisa has been in contact with Scheels, and they are supposed to be getting back to her with some options.
Streets:
a. Snow removal-Chad will get in contact with the contractor from last year.
b. John will research the cost of a plow and mounting expense.
Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Reviewed email from the city attorney. Jessi will send out final versions of the ordinances and the draft of a fee schedule to be discussed at the next meeting.
b. Budgets need to be done by year end. Increase the levy by 5%. Lisa Pool moved to approve the increase, it was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.
c. Mayor position-No applications Geoff Zibell moved to appoint Chad Erickson as mayor, it was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.
d. The council will declare a vacancy at the next meeting for a city council member.
e. Lots in Wolverton sold at public auction.
f. Reviewed complaint forms about a resident of the apartments having 3 dogs running unleashed and defecting in residents’ yards. Jessi will mail an ordinance violation letter to the apartment resident and the landowner.
g. Reviewed other complaint form addressing vehicles and unsightly yards. Chad will discuss with vehicle owner.
h. Reviewed ideas for community projects that Breckenridge high school students could complete. We will coordinate ideas with the school.
i. Discussed putting gates up at the ball diamond to make it a potential dog park as well. It will be added to the agenda for future discussion.
j. Discussed the Wolverton Facebook page and what would be considered public record. This page is not an official page for the city; therefore, we are not required to keep record of it.
Planning Commission: No Report.
Office of Tourism: No Report.
Municipal Business Development: No Report.

Motion to Adjourn: on September 22, 2021 by Geoff Zibell. It was seconded by Luke and carried, all in favor. Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be Tuesday, October 13, 2021 at 6:15 pm.
