Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on September 9, 2025. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present were Frank Israelson, Joshua Jensen, Shawn O’Dell and Jessica Nelson.

Absent: None

Presentation: None

Minutes:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept August 2025 minutes. It was seconded by Jessica and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor.
Utilities: None

Correspondence: Reviewed

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and Sewer have been good.
b. MRWA will be here September 22nd to work on hydrants.

Parks: None

Streets:
a. Streetlights-Still in the works.
b. Stop signs still in the works. We have some inventory on signs that need to be gone through.
c. Snow Removal-Tim will complete again this year.

Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Resolution Governing Write-In votes was reviewed. Shawn O’Dell moved to approve. It was seconded by Josh and carried, all in favor.
b. Diversion: No Report
c. Discussed property violation letter mailed to resident on Hwy 75. Jess spoke with the Sheriff’s office and provided him with a letter and our ordinance. The Sheriff’s office went over and discussed with him. One has been removed and the rest has been rotating parking.
d. Discussed sending out letters to 505 1st Street in regard to vehicles and blight in the front yards.
e. Burned properties are planning to tear down the structures prior to winter months. Discussion on what the city can do if they don’t tear it down.
f. Reviewed and discussed checking account balance.
g. Discussed sending a letter to Kyle Johnson.
h. Discussed getting a roll-off dumpster for city clean up.
i. Discussed needing to burn the tree pile. Frank will talk to Ross about possibly allowing us to burn the pile after harvest.
j. Kubota needs to be brought in for service. Maintenance light is on and a noise from the front end. Jessica will call Aber and see if they do any work on tractors.
k. Courtney would like to discuss city equipment. She indicated that there are no tools in the city shop. She compiled a list of what she feels the city should have. The Council would like to review the list prior to approval. In the interim she will use her tools and if for some reason one breaks the city will replace it. All regular things like oil, belts, tire leaks etc. are regular expenses and could be done automatically.

Motion to Adjourn: Josh Jensen moved to adjourn September 9, 2025, it was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor. Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on October 14, 2025.
