Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on June 10, 2019 in Council Chambers in the City of Wolverton, MN. The meeting was called to order by Nancy Olthoff at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Geoff Zibell, Chad Erickson, Duane Nelson and Lisa Pool.

Absent: None
Also Present: Sandy Maesse

Sandy inquired about the $25 fee she pays on her bare lot. Since it is considered to be in the flood zone is, she still required to pay the fee since she cannot ever develop that land. Discussion was had. Since the flood determination area is not finalized, we cannot say for sure if her lot is unbuildable or not. Does the county or watershed have any rules that would overrule any decision we made. Geoff is going to follow-up with Breanna Koval from Wilkin County.

Minutes: Duane Nelson moved to accept the May 14, 2019 meeting minutes. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.

Bills & Claims: The checks and bills were reviewed Chad Erickson moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor.

Overdue Utilities:
Discussed 2 shutoff letters were sent. 1 has been paid.

Correspondence: Correspondence was reviewed.

Two complaints about the old bank building were reviewed. A letter will be sent to property owner in regard to the sewer project, cleaning up the sidewalk, and not parking right at the corner of Lind Avenue and Hwy 75 as it is a safety hazard.

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
1. Railroad sold the lot North of gas station to the elevator so John no longer mows this property.
2. Wayne McQueen’s sewer project is supposed to be starting again on June 11th. Digem Industries is doing the work.
3. Called Fargo Tractor and they quoted him $4,900 for a box blade. John and Chad will work on this.
4. Thein Well will be here on Thursday to inspect our well.

Fire Department: None

Parks: Eagle Valley Church will be having a community picnic at the park shelter on June 26th. They will be contacting John about helping do some projects as well.

City Potluck scheduled for June 13th. Discussed purchasing a grill from the donation given to parks that can be left down at the ball diamond. Duane Nelson moved to purchase a grill. It was seconded by Chad and carried, all in favor. Duane will get the grill purchased.

Chad will check with the church about doing a Bingo & Brauts event.

We will be doing a city-wide rummage sale in conjunction with the City of Christine.

Streets: Discussed the culvert next to Betz is crooked/broke. Duane is going to follow up with the County and see if we can get a new culvert from them.

Mayor/City Clerk: Nancy had a meeting with the attorney and confirmed that we want to pursue the contested case.

Jessi stated that she did the audit for the insurance company this afternoon.

Planning Commission: No Report.
