Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on August 12, 2025. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:14 P.M. Council members present were Frank Israelson, Shawn O’Dell and Jessica Nelson.

Absent: Joshua Jensen

Also Present: None

Presentation: Rebecca Peterson from West Central Initiative- They do offer some lending programs and gap financing. She is going to research any grant programs that could potentially be used for water and sewer projects. She passed out their annual report book. She also provided a book about estate planning as well as postcards about an individual that discusses the transfer of wealth.

Minutes:
a. Jess Nelson moved to accept July 2025 minutes. It was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Jess Nelson moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor.
Utilities:
a. Past Due letters were sent.

Correspondence: Letter from Rogers Road Maintenance reviewed.

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and Sewer have been good.

Parks: None

Streets:
a. Robert has been working with Wendell on the gravel and box blading.
b. Streetlights-Still in the works. Council urges residents to notify Xcel of any street lights that are out.
c. Stop signs still in the works.

Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Voting Operations, Technology & Election Resources Account Agreement was reviewed. Jess Nelson moved to approve the agreement. It was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor.
b. Diversion: No Report
c. Discussed violation letter that was sent out. We will send out a reminder letter with parking ordinance.
d. Discussed sending out letters to 505 1st Street in regard to vehicles and blight in the front yards.
e. Robert Betz notified Chad that he has to go back to teaching. He intended to work through 8/16, but his schedule changed, and he was done as of 8/9.
f. Discussed contacting the other individuals that were interested in some part-time work and seeing if one of them is interested in mowing.
g. Discussion on mosquito spraying. John Kappes will take over this task and shoot to do it twice a week.
h. Friesen property was discussed. Chad talked with Blake and he indicated that before winter he will have the property cleared and intends to sell the lots.
i. Will discuss with Tim if he is interested in snow removal again this year.

Municipal Business Development: None

Motion to Adjourn: Shawn O’Dell moved to adjourn August 12, 2025, it was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor. Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on September 9, 2025.
