Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on April 11, 2023. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present Joshua Jensen, Luke Kratzer and Jess Nelson.

Absent:
Also Present: Tony Harris, Breanna Koval, Zach Schreiner

Presentation:
Tony Harris-Wilkin County Sheriff. Reported we are up 6 calls, but our price actually went down with having a new deputy on staff. We signed the annual sheriff contract. He also reported that Darlene Reddy was previously here to discuss First Responders. They are wondering if there is anyone in town that would like to become a first responder that this time. Sabin would provide a fully stocked rig to be kept here. Abercrombie is willing to provide first response if we can’t get anyone it town to help, however, response times are much slower than if we had someone in town.

Breanna Koval-Wilkin County Emergency Flood Management. At this time water is soaking up 80-90%, they are not thinking we will have any issues. If we do have any damage or incur any costs for flooding, we need to report that.

Zach Schreiner reposted that he is going to park his truck at the elevator until the roads dry up.

Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Resolution declaring a Pre-Disaster State of Emergency was reviewed. This is just a preventative, so we have everything lined up in case we were to have any flooding issues. Josh Jensen moved to accept the resolution. It was seconded by Luke and carried, all in favor.
b. Chad presented a legal services contract with Aaland Law Firm and reported that the attorney verbally states that all fees will be charged to FM Diversion.
