Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting
Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on December 8, 2020 via Zoom. The meeting was called to order by Nancy Olthoff at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Geoff Zibell, Duane Nelson, Chad Erickson and Lisa Pool.
Absent: None
Also Present: Rich Sigle and Tracy Eslinger from Moore Engineering
Presentation: Rich and Tracy joined the meeting to share that Moore Engineering is available for consultation if we need as the levy process begins. They understand that Buffalo Red Water Shed will be handling our project, however, if we would like a second opinion of if we have any questions, they would be happy to help. Nancy will contact Buffalo Red to request that they join a meeting so we can start discussions about how our project will start.
Minutes: Chad Erickson moved to accept the November 10, 2020 meeting minutes. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims: The checks and bills were reviewed Geoff Zibell moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Chad and carried, all in favor.
Utilities:
Three Shutoff letters were sent. Two have paid and one has until the 13th to pay.
Correspondence: None
Engineer/Water/Sewer:
1. There have been some changes with the tree and John requested that he have someone in to cut it down. He has a quote for $600. John will do all of the cleanup. Geoff Zibell moved to accept this bid. It was seconded by Chad and carried, all in favor.
2. Water and sewer are good
3. Quarterly water samples will be brought to Detroit Lakes this month.
4. Pepsi is supposed to pick up the pop machine.
5. John stated the Wolverton hall sign is in bad condition and would like to restore it.
6. Christmas lights were put up.
Parks: None
Streets: Duane sent a map to Jeff Lavigne about which roads we would like have them plow snow on.
Mayor/City Clerk:
1. Nancy will email employee evaluation forms to the council members to fill out.
2. Jessi will be beginning the audit process.
3. Discussed the updates to Ordinance 57 & 59. Lisa will email out the revisions. If the council approves, we will get the ordinances sent to the attorney for review.
Planning Commission: No Report.
Office of Tourism: No Report.
Municipal Business Development: No Report.
New Business: Thank you to Duane for his service on the city council. Luke Kratzer will begin his position as council member in January.
Old Business: None
Motion to Adjourn: on December 8, 2020 by Geoff Zibell. It was seconded by Lisa and carried, all in favor. Mayor Nancy Olthoff declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be Tuesday, January 12, 2020 at 6:15 pm.
