Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on January 12, 2021 in council chambers. The meeting was called to order by Nancy Olthoff at 6:15 P.M. Council members present: Geoff Zibell, Luke Kratzer, Chad Erickson and Lisa Pool.

Absent: None
Also Present: Representatives from the BRRWD-Kathy Affield, Peter Fjestad, Christine, and Randy Enlestad. Also, Erik Jones from Houston Engineering

Presentation: Erik stated that we are currently in the middle of finalizing the settlement with the Diversion Authority. The steps going forward are to finalize the settlement, get the Memorandum of Understanding, Start working on the engineering, finally start construction. Started preliminary discussions on where the levy would be located.

Eric Stark a rural Wolverton resident stopped and suggested that the city put in a skatepark for the kids in town to use for skating.

Minutes: Geoff Zibell moved to accept the December 8, 2020 meeting minutes. It was seconded by Chad and carried, all in favor.

Bills & Claims: The checks and bills were reviewed Chad Erickson moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.

Utilities:
Shutoff letters were sent.

Correspondence: Was shared with the council.

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
1. Water testing has been good.
2. Looking at different ideas for the hall sign.
3. MDH was here for samples.
4. New pump at the list station is bad. Multiple things could have caused this issue including power surges and low voltage. There is an electrical issue that caused a bad starter and breaker and melted the wires. Unknown if this could be covered under the warranty at this time. Jessi will contact the insurance company and see if it could potentially be covered under our policy.
5. Christmas lights were taken down.

Parks: Pop machine is gone.

Streets: We need to get a contract finalized.

Mayor/City Clerk:
1. Updated ordinance drafts will be sent to the attorney to be reviewed.
2. Antique store needs to keep the sidewalk clean.
3. Performance Evaluations will be completed.

Planning Commission: No Report.

Office of Tourism: No Report.

Municipal Business Development: No Report.

New Business:
1. Luke took his Oath of Office.
2. Yearly resolutions were read. Lisa Pool moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor.

Old Business: None

Motion to Adjourn: on January 12, 2021 by Luke Kratzer. It was seconded by Geoff and carried, all in favor. Mayor Nancy Olthoff declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 6:15 pm.
