Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on July 14, 2026. The meeting was called to order by Jessica Nelson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present were Frank Israelson, Josh Jensen and Shawn O’Dell.

Absent:
Also Present: Bobbi Jo Cody

Presentation:
a. Bobbi Jo here to discuss Pickle Fest. Discussed closing off the street for Pickle Fest on August 29th from 3:30-10. Food truck has not responded so discussed having food available in the fire hall and she is looking into having liquor served. She has to check into the liquor license further. She would also like to borrow the picnic tables for the night.
b. Discussed being in the Abercrombie parade to promote Pickle Fest. Avery Grohman will let us use his pontoon and Frank offered his vehicle. Roughly $200 expense for decorations and things to throw out. Looking into a small banners to put on the car that says City of Wolverton.

Minutes:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept June 2026 minutes. It was seconded by Shawn O’Dell and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Frank Israelson and carried, all in favor.
Utilities: #1 received a shutoff letter, 2 signed up for auto pay and was going to drop off the payment, #3 paid.

Correspondence: None

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and Sewer have been good.
b. Bypass for testing the wells and not putting water in the tower is complete.
c. 4 new garage cans dropped off at the city shop.

Parks:
a. Electrical work on the campground is done. Add grass seed this fall. Jess dropped off everything to the JPA meeting this morning to get reimbursed.
b. A previous camper that knows a current camper would like come for a couple of weeks in August. They will share the sewer and water.

Streets: Josh mentioned that be believes Scott’s Electric ordered all of our lights at the same time so they should have them in stock. He will get them scheduled to come complete the remaining lights before winter.

Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Discussed flowage easement being signed.
b. Mayor and 2 council positions are up for election. Filing period is July 14th-July 28th.
c. Jess visited with Randy Monson on fire protection, the yellow tanker truck that most likely no longer is usable.
d. Reviewed electrical proposal to put in a kitchenette in the fire hall and upgrade the lights. Need to research flooring, construction, mini-split, potentially adding a window to the North wall, etc.

Motion to Adjourn: Josh Jensen moved to adjourn July 14, 2026, it was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor. Jessica Nelson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on August 11, 2026.
