Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on November 14, 2023. The meeting was called to order by Chad Erickson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present Luke Kratzer and Jess Nelson.

Absent: Joshua Jensen
Also Present: None

Presentation: None

Minutes:
a. Jess Nelson moved to accept the October 2023 minutes. It was seconded by Luke and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Luke Kratzer moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Jess and carried, all in favor.
Utilities: One letter sent and they did make a payment.

Correspondence: Reviewed donation request from Christine Fire Department-this will be discussed more when budgets are being worked on.

Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water has been good.
b. Quality Flow here and fixed the lift station. Both pumps are working now.
c. Started working on Christmas lights, plan to put them up after Thanksgiving.
d. City pickup has issues with the fuel filter/pump. Chad will work on this.
e. Yellow tanker truck needs batteries tested and possibly replaced.
f. No parking signs arrived and were wrong. New ones are coming. Chad reported that MN DOT okayed us putting up the signs. An ordinance needs to be written and put in place. Chad gave us a copy of the one Barnesville uses.

Parks:
a. Would like to put up the ice skating rink.

Streets:
a. Xcel has been notified again that the street light bulbs need to be replaced. They have been called multiple times.
b. Snow removal-Tim Poehls provided us a contract to do city removal. First six snow events would be $145/hr. and then $120/hr. for the remaining snow removal. John would still be doing sidewalks, alleys and intersection widening. Jess Nelson moved to approve the contract. It was seconded by Luke and carried, all in favor.

Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Some buildings along main street will be coming up for sale.
b. Two bare lots between hall and Northern plains have been purchased by a gentleman that would like to put up storage buildings. Chad advised him that he would need to present his proposal to the council for a building permit.
c. Had an inquiry about the bank building being rezoned to a residential lot.
d. Discussed trying to get developers into town to have businesses along Hwy 75.
e. We thought we had a couple of people interested in the open council positions, however, they are not going to work out.
f. Discussed budgets need to be finalized in December.
g. Chad reported that Houston Engineering is working on revising drainage on the outside of levee in SE corner and setting up meetings with property owners. They are hoping to bring a report to us in January. We have not been getting responses to our requests for information on the status.

Motion to Adjourn: on November 14, 2023, by Luke Kratzer It was seconded by Jess and carried, all in favor. Chad Erickson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on November 14, 2023.
