Minutes of Wolverton City Council Meeting

Pursuant to due call and proper notice, a meeting of the City of Wolverton Council was held on May 12, 2026. The meeting was called to order by Jessica Nelson at 6:15 P.M. Council members present were Frank Israelson, Josh Jensen and Shawn O’Dell.

Minutes:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept April 2026 minutes. It was seconded by Frank Israelson and carried, all in favor.
Bills & Claims:
a. Josh Jensen moved to accept the bills & claims. It was seconded by Frank Israelson and carried, all in favor.
Utilities: Reviewed
Correspondence: None
Engineer/Water/Sewer:
a. Water and Sewer have been good.
b. Lift station is fixed. The problem was a bad “motor saver”. They protect the pumps from power surges.
c. Is getting a quote to add the sanitary lift station to our notification system.
d. Need to purchase a new fluoride tester.
e. Will start spraying for mosquitos soon.

Parks:
a. Jessica went to the JPA meeting about updating the campground. They indicated that we can just add the boondocking electrical posts if we want now, we don’t need to come back for additional approval.
b. Discussed disposal options for the shingles from the city shop.
c. Tree on the South side of the park is dead and needs to be removed. Will get a quote for taking it down.
d. Discussed the concession stand needs to have some maintenance done in the future.
e. Will order new basketball stuff from Lifetime.
f. Discussed community nights/city gatherings.

Streets:
a. Jessica has us on the list for getting gravel.

Mayor/City Clerk:
a. Electric Franchise Ordinance with Xcel reviewed with the changes discussed at the previous meeting. Shawn O’Dell moved to approve the ordinance. It was seconded by Josh Jensen and carried, all in favor.
b. Cleanup day will be May 19th.
c. Ross Aigner called Jessica and discussed the burn pile. He will help try to find a solution to remove it.
d. The land to the West of town is not a sale but rather a flowage easement. $2,350 one-time payment. Josh Jensen moved to approve the easement. It was seconded by Shawn O’Dell and carried, all in favor.
e. City owns a small triangular piece of land on the East side of 75 that the diversion is currently putting together a proposal for the city to either purchase/easement. A pile of dirt will still be placed by the sewer station in the future.
f. Jessica provided an update on what is currently being worked on with the diversion. Work will start on the South side of 75, currently no timeframe. There are lots of discussions going between FEMA, CW, environmental agencies etc.

Motion to Adjourn: Josh Jensen moved to adjourn May 12, 2026, it was seconded by Frank and carried, all in favor. Jessica Nelson declared the meeting adjourned. The next Wolverton City Council Meeting will be held on June 9, 2026.
